Jenn Roden, Professional Counselor Associate
Meet Jenn
Hello! I’m Jenn Roden (she/her), a Professional Counselor Associate in Oregon. I offer individual therapy for adults ages 18 and older through in-person and virtual sessions.
I work with people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, dissociation, self-harm, and stress. I have a particular interest in complex trauma and in helping people understand patterns that once helped them cope but may now be creating difficulties. My approach is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and grounded in curiosity about your experiences.
You Might Be a Good Fit If...
You want to understand yourself more deeply while finding ways to feel more supported in daily life. You may be:
Wondering why you keep returning to certain behaviors or relationship patterns.
Working through trauma or painful experiences that continue to affect you.
Experiencing dissociation or living with dissociative identity disorder (DID).
Navigating anxiety, depression, stress, or self-harm.
Wanting to explore parts of yourself that feel hidden, conflicting, or difficult to understand.
Looking for practical coping skills alongside space for deeper exploration.
Seeking a therapist who approaches your experiences with compassion rather than judgment.
How I Work
I believe healing and growth can happen within a relationship where you feel understood, accepted, and connected. I work to create that kind of space, with room for curiosity about what you’re experiencing and what you need.
Together, we may explore how past experiences affect your emotions, relationships, and responses to stress. Rather than viewing a difficult behavior as something wrong with you, I’m interested in understanding what it has been trying to do for you. From there, we can look for ways to meet those needs that better support your well-being.
Sessions may include exploring different parts of yourself, building coping skills, attending to the connection between your body and emotions, or using sand tray therapy as another way to express and understand your experiences.
My Approach
My approach is person-centered, relational, and trauma-informed. I draw from interpersonal neurobiology to understand how experiences and relationships shape the brain, nervous system, and ways we respond to the world.
Internal Family Systems–informed parts work also influences my practice. This approach offers a compassionate way to explore parts of yourself that may have developed to protect you, even when their strategies now create challenges. We can work toward understanding those parts and finding other ways to respond to their needs.
My clinical approach includes:
